So today we’re going to be talking about facing fears, I’m going to give you a biblical perspective on them. So God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power of love and sound mind. And that can be found in Second Timothy one seven. I do believe in the healthy fear that the Holy Spirit gives us to protect us. But the fears that we face on a daily basis are most likely not fears from God to protect us. I think once we realize and believe that the unhealthy fear of going after a big dream, raising our prices, having babies at the height of our career, moving somewhere new, you name the fear that keeps you stuck where you are.

And I promise it’s not from God.

The way that I fight this is if the fear I’m feeling is about something that lines up with the Bible and my core moral values, then I know that that fear is not from God. So if I’m scared to dream, this big dream to go after, say like, you know, my friend, Jen and I are opening up a studio space, or me wait raising my prices, the fact that I decided to have a baby at the height of my career.

What you know, enter your fear. Hear it, like I said, if it’s lining up, but luckily, then that fear is probably from the enemy to keep you from trying to go after these good things. So how do you know what you’re seeking is lining up. So again, another Bible verse for you. Because that’s the way that I live my life. Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely. Whatever is commendable. If there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think about these things Philippians 4:8. When you go after this dream, or whatever, and you feel super scared, and everything and everyone is coming up against you. You should also probably consume less social media that would help a lot. Ask yourself, is it true? Is it honorable? Is it right? And I mean, like right in God’s eyes, not right in your own mind. Is it or your heart like is it in your heart appear thing? Is it lovely? Or is it commendable?

So this big decision is scaring the living crap out of you. Just put it up against the word of God. And then you can figure out if this fear is healthy or unhealthy, this can make a world of difference and retraining your mind. And if you have not read switch on your brain by Caroline leif, you better go grab it today. She is a Christian neuroscientist, which is kind of unheard of. And her entire book is about how to retrain your brain, like in Romans 12. Do not conform to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. So whenever you go and seek out doing something, I don’t care if you’re just going to post a photo with a caption on Instagram. Ask yourself, is it true? Is it honorable? Is it right? Is it pure? Isn’t lovely? Is it commendable? Like? Is it going to cause strife? Is it going to cause commotion? Is it going to bring you drama? Is it going to hurt someone else? Now, I’m not saying that you’re responsible for someone else’s feelings, cuz you’re not you have no one explanation. But there is a right and a wrong way to do and say everything. Of course, this is my own opinion, but also it lines up with the Bible. And that’s that’s the truth. That’s my foundation.

I try to tell everybody, the same things. I just want you to go, you know, into your next week. And every time that you’re about to do something that scares the living crap out of you. Measure it up to the Bible. Add these things to a sticky note and put them on your computer, your bathroom mirror or your dashboard in your car. You know, the main places that we are in front of our computer, in our bathroom, or in our car, driving all our crazy kids around.
